The technology combines validated mix designs and formulations with an integrated processing hub and intelligent software.

We have tested over 100 biochars in more than 800 concrete mix designs, optimized handling, processing, and storage, and certified the system for both concrete integration and carbon credit generation.

The core elements of our platform are Concrete Integration System and Processing Hub Technology, enabling us and our partners to convert local biomass residues into scalable, certified building materials using proven systems, proprietary processes, and integrated digital tools.

How it works

Raw material

Each biochar, sourced from a variety of biomass residues—from agricultural and food processing waste to forestry residues and sewage sludge—possesses unique chemical characteristics, such as carbon, ash and silica content, as well as mechanical properties like particle size distribution and moisture content. All of these factors can affect concrete performance. Our data base of > 100 biochars helps us identify challenges and required modifications.

Concrete Integration System

The ecoLocked Concrete Integration System features our patent-pending biochar mix optimization and performance prediction processes, backed by 800+ concrete tests ensuring superior strength, consistency, and durability. It covers Ready-Mix, Pre-Cast, Earth Moist, and Lightweight concretes, enabling fast and precise mix formulation optimization and biochar specification definition.

Processing Hub Technology

The ecoLocked Processing Hub efficiently converts raw biochar into high-value, construction-ready products. Our modular system includes hardware for milling, blending, and packaging, alongside software for smart management, quality control, and automated dMRV. Offering output formats such as blended powders, granulates, and slurries, each tested for both concrete and carbon credit conformity, the system ensures ease of use and certification readiness for EN 12878, EBC, and ATEX CE standards.

Project realization

Our technical team supports architects, real estate developers, and construction companies from the early planning and tendering phases (exploring the carbon storage potential of projects and assisting with cost assessment) through to the construction phase, where we coordinate with concrete manufacturers and ensure successful project delivery.

Carbon management

Our support continues with Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and helping you obtain audited CO2 removal certificates. Whether you need guidance on insetting emissions or understanding how to use them in your sustainability reporting under CSRD and SBTi, our team is here to assist you at every step of your carbon management system.
