Carbon dioxide removal plays an indispensable role in addressing climate change. It helps compensate for the slow pace of global emission reductions, both historically and for ongoing residual emissions.
To scale CDR effectively, investment in carbon offsetting and carbon insetting is essential. We advocate for a clear hierarchy in climate action. First reduce emissions, then integrate carbon removal into value chains through insetting, and finally offset what cannot be avoided. Insetting is particularly powerful because it enables companies and municipalities to take direct, local climate action.
Carbon removal and concrete: Proven and effective
Scientific consensus confirms that producing stable carbon from biomass residues, incorporating it into building materials, and ensuring secure storage delivers real additionality - provided the biomass would otherwise release CO₂ through combustion or decomposition within a relevant timeframe.

Creates new income streams for biowaste owners
Our commitments cover every stage of our climate impact. We ensure feedstock sustainability and apply the “do no harm” principle, and we conduct cradle-to-grave lifecycle assessments for every claimed impact. We work with independent certification bodies to verify these assessments and prevent any double-counting, and we price negative-emission products responsibly to avoid creating disincentives for CO₂ reduction. We also monitor carbon permanence throughout the lifetime of each building.
